Q. Are second-level IDNs supported?

A. Yes, for all Identity Digital TLDs except .travel (as of 2019)

Q. What languages do you support for IDNs?

A. English, French, Spanish, German and Chinese in all TLDs.

Note: We are pleased to announce that from 15 December 2016 onwards all Identity Digital TLDs will support 10 additional IDN scripts as second-level domains in addition to the currently offered Chinese, French, German, and Spanish:

1. Arabic
2. Cyrillic
3. Devanagari
4. Greek
5. Hebrew
6. Japanese
7. Korean
8.  Latin
9. Tamil
10. Thai

Q. What scripts (character sets) do you support for IDNs?

A. For the EPP language / script tag, please use:

  • 1. Arabic – “arab”
  • 2. Cyrillic – “cyrl”
  • 3. Devanagari – “deva”
  • 4. Greek – “grek”
  • 5. Hebrew – “hebr”
  • 6. Japanese – “ja”
  • 7. Korean – “ko”
  • 8. Latin – “latn”
  • 9. Tamil – “taml”
  • 10. Thai – “thai”
  • 11. German – “de”
  • 12. Chinese – “zh”
  • 13. French – “fr”
  • 14. Spanish – “es

Identity Digital may add more IDN scripts if there is demand in the market.

Q. Do you have tables with graphically similar versions?

A. Identity Digital language tables will be on the repository with IANA once the TLD launches.  For reference now, all language tables can be found via the document section of the registrar web portal.

Q. Do you have any restrictions for IDN domains that differ from an ASCII registration?

A. Identity Digital IDN policy matches those detailed in the RFCs for IDNs.

Q. Will the life cycle of an IDN domain differ?

A. No.
